DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS

Tesselation

Objectives:

Basically, to make our own tesselation from scratch. [stress]

I struggled.

In the end, though, i had a design that looked like sleep birds; so cute.

Identity

Objectives:

people. me? cannot draw people but...

Anyways, i had to draw a self-portrait and half the face contained symbols that resonated with who I am.

for the symbols, i chose the olive branches, doves, peace lilies, film, and shutter icon.

Cymatics

Objectives:

We were given 4 songs to listen to and illustrate using shapes and lines, forming patterns, etc.

the four songs:

• “They Don’t Know” by Chronixx
• “Soul Sacrifice” by Santana
• “Flight of the Bumblebee” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
• "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss

After making 4 individual illustrations of this song, we then had to combine those 4 designs.

Surrealism

Objectives:

 To create a surrealistic drawing based on one of the following themes:

• Religion (which i chose)
• Politics
• War
• Technology

Your drawing should be highly imaginative and conceptually consistent with the ideas expressed in Surrealism.
